Our Story

Three friends, one street, a wish to tell the real story of Rocinha

Tour Rio 330 was created by three childhood friends, driven by the wish to share their story and their favela with the world. Our guides met at age 10, in the favela of Rocinha where they grew up, right on street 330, which gives us our name.

Our desire to discover other languages and cultures made us want to share our own differently: with more truth and authenticity. Rocinha is part of Rio de Janeiro's story, and it shouldn't be missed.

Our idea: authentic, ethical tourism, led by the residents themselves.

Why Choose Us

What we help you avoid, not just what we offer

We know what a tourist worries about before visiting a favela. Here's how Tour Rio 330 addresses it, concretely.

Getting overcharged

We're transparent about price: it's fixed and shown before you book: 200 BRL per person, no negotiating and no hidden fees.

Feeling unsafe

You're accompanied from start to finish by guides who know every alley of Rocinha: never alone, never left to figure it out yourselves.

Poverty tourism, not culture

Our guides grew up here: they tell Rocinha's story and culture with the respect it deserves. This isn't a safari, it's an encounter. No photo is taken without residents' consent.

A complicated booking process

Everything happens online, in one go: you choose, pay and receive your confirmation. Booking takes less than 90 seconds. You'll receive a second confirmation 48 hours before your visit, with further details.

Not being understood in your language

Our support is available 24/7, in four languages: English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. No need to communicate in a language you're not comfortable with.

Getting stuck with a cancellation

With Tour Rio 330, cancellation is free: no proof or justification required. After that 48-hour window, for organizational reasons, the tour is non-refundable.

Joanna — Germany, September 2026

"It's an incredible experience that makes you realize what life is like for the people who live there: discovering this place with a local gives you a very different picture from what you see on social media. I felt safe throughout the visit thanks to my guide Natan, who I highly recommend. An experience not to be missed."

Sarah — France, September 2026

"For our first time in Rio, we chose to visit Rocinha to understand the city, and we wanted a local guide. I recommend it."

Joaõ — Portugal, August 2026
